EXPECTED RESULTS
Participants will be able to realize the laying background, to read and understand technical plan, to use  measurement and leveling instruments, to select the correct adhesives and glues, to mix adhesives, to use mortars for grouting, to put tiles on floors and walls in the correct way, to use electric and manual cutter, to realize expansion joints, to recognize defects on tiles.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
The teaching methodology of the course foresees that in each module will be a real  alternation between transmitted knowledge and experienced knowledge; at each moment of theoretical learning will follow a moment of direct involvement of the students oriented towards practical application and critical reflection
FIRST, SECOND,  THIRD,  FOURTH, FIFTH, SIXTH, SEVENTH, EIGHTH, NINTH DAYS: Registration of participants and control of personal data; booking of meals (if provided) TENTH DAY: Registration of participants and control of personal data; booking of meals (if provided) Delivery of certificates
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
To know and understand general rules about adhesives, mortars and tiles To be able to read and understand  technical documentsTo be able to realize and eventually correct a  laying backgroundTo be able to realize different flooring and covering To be able to  realize  expansion jointsTo be able to realize grouting with different types of plasters
FIRST DAY Course presentation Test about personal knowledge (optional) Theoretical Part Different types of ceramic tiles, adhesives and glues, mortars Good practices and general rules Critical analysis about disputes linked to non-compliance of materials Practical activity Operating instructions about tools, instruments, machines used for flooring and covering Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
SECOND DAY Theoretical Part Laying background (flexibility, stability, surface regularity, strength and humidity) Practical activity Preparation of  the laying background Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
THIRD DAY Theoretical Part “Perfectly done” flooring: requirements and tolerances linked to the aspect, leveling, grouting Measurement methods Analysis of the plan to be realized Practical activity Verify the compliance of the flooring Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
FOURTH DAY Theoretical Part Analysis of the plan to be realized Practical activity Preparation and application of the adhesive and of the tiles Realization of the grouting (parallel and diagonal joints, continuous and staggered joints, simple and double spreading of mortar) Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
FIFTH DAY Practical activity Cleaning of the flooring Demolition of the flooring and management of waste Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
SIXTH DAY Theoretical Part Good practices about the realization of flooring To plan a flooring considering the geometric features of the place Practical activity Different techniques of flooring (with cement mortar, with adhesive, with simple or double spreading of mortar) Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
SEVENTH DAY Theoretical Part Technical specifications about flooring: joints, executive details Special conditions required by energy saving and green building regulations Work organization, materials supply and check, verification of work quality and costs Practical activity To choose the correct tile, adhesive and thicknesses depending on the type of laying background and on the geometric features of the place Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
EIGTH DAY Practical activity Joints Optimization of the laying design Organization, activity planning and site management Check of environmental conditions The storage of materials The check of tiles Communication between worker and customer Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
NINTH DAY Theoretical Part Technological innovation about materials Practical activity Analysis of case studies about disputes linked to the bad quality of plan, flooring and materials Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the exercise
TENTH DAY Practical activity Final exercise Critical discussion among workers about procedures used during the practical exercise Learning test with closed answers Test of satisfaction Delivering of certificates
